Burlesque

I just finished watching Burlesque (2010) for the second time (and apparently L.A. is a really rainy place), and I must admit, aside from Christina Aguilera’s acting and Cher’s concrete face, the film is definitely entertaining. Stanley Tucci has great one liners, the vocals are exquisite, the dance numbers are highly engaging, and I dare you to try not looking at Cam Gigandet. I felt as if I was watching a mash of a modern day 42nd Street (1933), with the underdog chorus line girl getting her opportunity in the spot light, and Moulin Rouge! (2001) with the overall glitz and glam cascading over the highly sexualized women. All in all, take this film with a grain of salt by ditching the ‘realism’ cap before you sit down. That’s entertainment!
