Requiem for a Dream

With the recent release of Darren Aronofsky’s film Black Swan I felt it was necessary to re-watch his masterpiece Requiem for a Dream (2000). If you have not seen it, I highly recommend it. If you have ever been on the fence or tempted to break out of your boring shell and try some powerful narcotics (and essentially “live up your life” as the Spice Girls would say), well this movie will definitely remind you why you have remained on top of that fence. It is a complete mind bender and it has this strange control over your psyche, as you are thrown head first into the realm of substance abuse. This movie is the fix of a life time and you (I hope) will never feel the need to take any sort of hit. However, if the occasion arises where you are feeling utterly rebellious, well then just load up this DVD and feast your senses to the most authentic (yet synthetic) drug trip.
