Happy Birthday, Frank Capra!

"Film is one of three universal languages, the other two: mathematics and music"

Today, influential American film director, Frank Capra is mostly associated with his 1946 film that is ubiquitous throughout the holiday season, It’s a Wonderful Life (which was surprisingly a box-office disappointment, but is on the American Film Institute’s top 100 film list). But not only did Capra direct pleasurable films that focused on the simple goodness of human nature, he also made a ten  propaganda films from 1942-1948, which were commissioned by the American government, and he regarded these films as his most significant contribution to the film industry.

Happy birthday, Mr. Capra! Thanks for showing that you can be an artist with positive morals and whole-some, uplifting themes!
